I confess, I have been purposely trying to hide my face. Aside from my chaotic schedule, my normal beauty maintenance routine has become chaotic and uncontrollable also.I have been craving a turban since I seen a test model at the Vogue offices strut down the hallway in one months ago.

And the glasses, I must admit, where inspired by Bothies bodacious frames.So, if you see me on the streets rocking any of the cover up items..have some pity and pass no judgement!Although, both accessories make for a great summer look.

Hard work...pays off?

We know, slacking on the blogging:

Basically I have been working my butt off the last 4 days planning a VIP event for American Vintage & my boss. Give me 3 days, a energy drink and some carrots.. & this is what I can make happen( see below). The event was in celebration of my boss being the face of the chain store, American Vintage, and A.V's new Westwood location. If unfamiliar with American Vintage..let me school you. I have been shopping & pulling from there for a while now-they are in some of LA's hottest locations (including Melrose).Carrying amazing pieces that date from the mid 50's to the 90's, American Vintage will definitely give you a fashion spasm. They just opened up a Westwood store in Westwood Village by the famous Fox Theatre.

The event was more amazing than I could have imagined. We had more celebs and fashion professionals show than expected ( Thank God). Most importantly, the owners of American Vintage were very pleased ( now I can breathe). As I slowly find a way back to 'normal life' ( by that I mean..sleep and eat), please enjoy the 'bootleg' flicks taken by..someone who had my camera all dam night!I pray Bothie will post more images that do the event justice (as he is the mastermind behind handling a camera).

While in Vegas, the rats will play.

While Bothie is taking a much deserved break in the heart of the Las Vegas strip I have been left here to feign for myself.As I am sure this post will,for the lack of better words, make your photography lens crumble, I am doing the unthinkable (according to B) and 'webcaming my life away'!

In honor of this red,white & blue holiday, I have decided to get up close and personal with..myself. Have an amazing 4th of July and be safe!

I started my photography work this summer with a goal of making beautiful editorial visuals. Below is one of my many first drafts.With the help of my sister ( the model) and Nyvia, this quickly became one of my favorite shoots!

A pursonal decision.

Someone once told me that the 'first step to curing a problem is admitting I have one'. So here I go,( AA style) " My name is Nyvia and..I have a shopping problem." Bothie and I discussed, in a unrealistic manner, of how to cure these types of diseases but I am afraid it is not a major concern of ours yet. Seeing that most of the amazing pieces we have collected have been on a "Give me/Thank you" bases, we don't really have any dents in our pockets (yet). This brings me to Louis V. Amazing. Limited edition throne bag that was actually a gift to me along with a custom made LV drape scarf.

Planet Africa Magazine: I style, he shoots.

In an attempt to widen my horizons, I branched off into styling a few years ago and..I'm assuming I'm not too bad at it. I was asked to style a very romantic shoot based off of an editorial in Uptown Magazine,09. With a full days worth of work in a 100 degree condo and a great support team that kept shoving food in my mouth, the shoot turned out even more amazing than I could have imagined. Bothie got all of the behind the scene scoop while I focused on not passing out!
